Quarterly 2026 / End of the Year 2025 Update on Matsiko & Exciting News!
Before the First Quarter of 2026 ends, I want to update you all on what has been happening with Matsiko!
Firstly, there will be a new letter writing process, very soon, in which you can send your letters online to your children with photos while writing on the new Matsiko online letter format! In addition, the children can then read your letter when they are in the Matsiko office and write you a letter in which we will scan to you that very day and ALSO MAIL YOU THAT VERY LETTER TWICE EACH YEAR SO YOU ALWAYS HAVE THAT ORIGINAL HARD COPY. You will no longer wait for months to get a letter and you can stay in touch with your child more often. In addition, you can send online a simple post that your child can reply to as well so you can even have “small talk” and questions answered more instantaneously! I will let you know but we are extremely close now to releasing this to you!
The wonderful children who made up the 2025 USA Matsiko World Orphan Choir Tour all arrived home safely with inspiration to succeed in school and reach their professional dreams thanks to you. During the tour, over 400 of some of our world’s most neglected children were sponsored and can now go to school because of sponsors like you! If you did not know, let me tell you that there is a docuseries being made on the journey of the children who make up the Matsiko World Orphan Choir and the value of its sponsorship program you are a major part of. The first season has been completed and picked up to premiere with Brussels Airlines in April. We are extremely excited about this news. Brussels wants a big fanfare performance in Liberia in April with many people they would like to invite including officials from our US and UK Embassies! See long Teaser to Brussels Airlines:
As a result of this Docuseries and the impact of Matsiko in the Jazz community, Matsiko has again been invited to be a part of some of our world’s biggest music festivals and venues around the USA and around the world! Watch the Video Azerbaijan has invited Matsiko in May 2026 to be a part of a music celebration as well as other major events like the New Orleans Jazz Festival, and festivals in Indianapolis, Chicago, NYC and a 8 show 4 night invitation to be featured at the Lincoln Center in NYC! However, as always, the highlight for the children is seeing you and sharing at our local churches and schools. Meeting you and their sponsors is what makes the lifelong impact on the Matsiko Children. In fact, after performing at bigger festivals, the kids often say how it is like nobody is there because they don’t get to meet anyone. Therefore, the kids are always asking about who they are going to meet? What church or school they will get to see because they want to meet you more than any other event. To the children of Matsiko, the image of the USA is actually what they hear about. Therefore, their image of the USA is you! If you would like to have a rough draft of where the Matsiko World Orphan Choir is going to be during the USA tour from this coming September 2026 through Augus 2027t, then please let me know at any time and I will give you our most current itinerary draft.
I also want you to know that because of your sponsorship 323 children from around the world graduated from High school and are now making plans to attend the university, in their home countries, for the first time in their family’s history, because of your impactful love and support you provide!
Lastly, plans for building “Matsiko Centers”, in Peru and Liberia are in the planning stages. These Matsiko Centers will make sure that sponsored children have every opportunity to be ahead in their schooling class, take part in music, sports and leadership activities while being in a very safe environment to avoid the many child predators that prey on vulnerable children before they develop. Like baby sea turtles going to sea, our world’s at-risk children only have destructive forces they must avoid as they try to obtain a hopeful future. Learning and growing up with a Matsiko Center is not part of “normal world” for our world’s least fortunate children. However, because of life changing sponsorship and hope like you provide, our world’s most vulnerable children now have a hope for the first time in their family’s history. Thank you!
